EGARoh-Connect: Supporting research for a sustainable supply of raw materials
The collaborative project EGARoh-Connect addresses the pressing challenges of global raw material supply chains and the increasing demand for critical minerals essential to German future technologies. As part of the BMFTR initiatives EGARoh and EGARoh-Junior, innovative, resource-efficient solutions are being developed for the exploration, extraction and processing of primary raw materials. The overarching aim of these initiatives is to reduce import dependencies through new technologies and processes and to sustainably strengthen Germany’s technological sovereignty as a business location – in line with the EU Critical Raw Materials Act. The EGARoh-Connect project provides strategic support for these initiatives.
Within the extensive network of EGARoh research consortia and in close cooperation with the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) and the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF), the AMT facilitates the targeted transfer of results to industry, science and policy. By identifying cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary issues and engaging in active science communication, the AMT plays a key role in rapidly translating research innovations into industrial practice.
