The AMT conducts basic as well as application-oriented and industry-oriented research. The focus is on the development of technologies that enable progressive automation and digitization of processes and machines in modern underground and surface mining.
AMT's research focuses on the application of different sensor technologies in the mining environment, including the generation of sensor-based data and the processing of data using intelligent algorithms and machine learning along a data-information value chain. The resulting "Smart Services" contribute to the automation of machines and processes in various areas of raw material extraction.
